Digital Database of Aerial Photography
Hatfield Aerial maintains a database of digital aerial photography and film negatives covering the
San Francisco Bay Area from Marin County to Monterey, including extensive coverage of the peninsula
with Silicon Valley. Prime or design coverage includes the Marin County, San Francisco City and
County, San Mateo County, Santa Clara County, Santa Cruz County, Monterey County, and Alameda County.
Many of the digital photographs and negatives found in the database have never been circulated to
date, and new releases will become available over time. Scanned negatives produce the digital
photographs and include documentation search items such as, town or county, location and streets,
date, and compass view direction (N, S, W, E). View Type includes (close up, old downtown commercial
zone, or panoramic). View Angle to the ground or horizon includes (45° oblique or 90° vertical,
directly above).
On the Hatfield Home Page, samples from the digital database reveal a reduced view of actual
photographs, and the corresponding application pages reveal a view obtained by magnifying, or
enlarging the sample photograph. Hatfield Aerial photographic products are produced from 7x7 or
5x7 large format negatives noted for clarity. Photograph enlargements are typically printed at
20 x 28 or 24 x 24.

the San Francisco Bay Area from Marin County to Monterey, including extensive coverage of the
peninsula with Silicon Valley. Prime coverage includes Marin County, San Francisco City and
County, San Mateo County, Santa Clara County, Santa Cruz County, Monterey County, and Alameda
County. Duplicate original prints of museum quality are available of limited areas. Many of
the photographs and negatives found in these archives have never been circulated to date, and
new releases will become available over time.
